An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills. It offers the employer the opportunity to bring new ideas and energy into the workplace, develop talent and potentially build a pipeline for future full-time employees. This period of training spent by a young trainee to finish their professional training is very important and inevitable in professional training and obtaining any professional qualification (Diploma)
A Quality intern:
Each student is expected to go for at least 1 month of internship at the end of the classroom training. This period starts immediately at least 2 weeks after the last assessment is written. Therefore, every student is given an internship application letter 1 (one) month by the school administration before the end of their classroom program. That way they can start applying for internship positions earlier.
Students will write a handwritten application and attach to the internship letter and submit it to at least 5 organizations. The school provides only one internship application form and the student photocopies it to have multiple copies to submit. A list of organizations and their road maps around town is pasted on the notice board so that students can use it to know where to apply. Students can also apply for internships out of town if they have the resources to do so. Also, we advice students to go for internships in organizations that are offering related services to their area of training.
Students are given a log book before they go on an internship that they will use to record all the activities they carry out weekly during the internship. This will help them to write an internship report at the end of the internship period. They will also be given an internship evaluation form that will be submitted to the organization where they are carrying out the internship. This evaluation form will be filled out by the organization to grade the intern and returned sealed with the stamp of the organization directly to the school.
